This author just needs to stop writing blurbs before she writes the books, because they often don’t match up. This one is all about the lust between these two, the years of unspoken feelings, and the forbidden element. I wasn’t sold on the timid, somewhat submissive Maren, but did enjoy the book from start to finish. It’s low angst and steamy, moving at a quick pace without ever lingering on anything too heavy. There were a few things I didn’t love (a little bit of awkward OW drama, the hesitancy to move forward, and the shallow feel of the relationship), but nothing that held me back from enjoying the book as a whole. I’m actually really interested in reading Wolfie’s story next, and there are a few other characters who have my interest piqued. All in all, it’s a very solid start to a fun, steamy new series and I’m looking forward to more.
